App concept & structure
Dupin's Legacy takes its name from the famous character by Edgar Allan Poe, considered the first literary detective in history. His legacy is all those novel investigators created in the two following centuries.
The function of the application is based on the access to the information available about each detective registered in it. The whole flow of interaction lies in the access to a specific character and the return to a new search. The search can be done in two ways: through a simple text search or via a visual one through the gallery.

The objective is to achieve a properly noir tone without resorting to black and white and a cliché illustration style. Instead, it uses a range of violets, reds and creams. Typography is the co-protagonist in this project and interactive elements have been reduced to their simplest expression.
Typography
Source Serif Pro serves as the general typography for the project, providing the elegance of a classic but contemporary font, strongly contrasted to Garage Gothic.
Color palette
Color palette
A limited palette of 7 colors —plus white— serves to define both the chromatic aspect of the illustrations and the general interface.
