Flawed inventions

EDITORIAL ILLUSTRATION

Series of three illustrations related to inventions that never came to see the light for various reasons. Rather than illustrate the specific inventions, the images depict three different categories of ill-conceived inventions.

Category 1

Category 1

Inventions that require immense complexity and development to solve something very simple. Illustrated by a complicated mechanical and technological structure that aims to light a match, something we can do with a simple gesture and a piece of sandpaper.

Category 2

Category 2

Inventions that solve a problem but bring with them many others, sometimes worse than those that solve. Illustrated by a portable rainwater collector/purifier, which the more water it collects, the more it drowns the user.

Category 3

Category 3

Inventions whose only purpose is evil: impose the will or cause harm to others. Believe it or not, hundreds of patents could fall into this category. Illustrated by a waves-emitting helmet capable of altering or controlling the mind.
